Why is GMAC Internet Solutions different? It all starts from the top with the Director and founder, Gerard McDermott. Gerard holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Deakin University and Certificate in Financial Markets from the Securities Institute. His software development career started in 1991 and includes assisting Changi Airport develop their gate allocation software and the ANZ Treasury create their dealer advice software. His strong technical knowledge saw him spend time managing the development environment for a team of over 30 other programmers.

In 1996, Gerard McDermott worked on a web interface to software that monitored the performace of Telstra's digital network. This allowed changing of equipment settings and generation of reports from any PC in Australia. This early work was ground-breaking and gained an acknowledgement in the book Instant Javascript by the late Nigel McFarlane when it was first published in 1997. Said Nigel "Gerard McDermott was a source of a number of useful Javascript observations, which opened up areas I might otherwise never have started thinking about. You deserve a medal (made out of a Netscape cookie, of course)."

GMAC Internet Solutions, started in January 2002, only employs and sub-contracts experienced, skilled, creative people who are justifiably proud of their hard work.
