There's one company that keeps advertising on the radio at prices that are insanely low. A simple web search tells you why. Have a look at the responses to a question about this company and you'll quickly see a disturbing pattern - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1328090
"Am just dealing with [...] and it is a nightmare."
"Avoid [...] like the plague!"
"i wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole ever again"
"These guys are jokers."
"I'm so glad I went elsewhere."
...and so on. Your website is serious business. You do NOT save money with a company like this.
You should also note the number of people who were threatened with legal action over their comments in this Whirlpool thread. One was even phoned up and threatened.
On top of all that, you are very unlikely to get a website for the price they say in their ads.
In over 15 years of developing websites I have NEVER met a web developer who "wears a bow tie to be ironic" or "charges more because it's Monday". We're professionals and most of us are damn good at our jobs. I really have to wonder what kind of company would publicly denigrate and mock it's own profession in such a way. Sure, some web developers are better than others, but that's the same for every job. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
Note that I have removed the name of the company from this page so their lawyers don't attack me for trying to protect you. In my opinion, doing a bad job and then threatening people who try to warn others is the the lowest behaviour. Read what their customers and ex employees have had to say and keep it in mind when you hear about their amazing low prices.
No matter how much money you save, you will never be satisfied with a bad job.
"Get a real quote"? ... How about "Get an honest quote"?
